Oooooh! The yummy desserts....

And a Merry Christmas to One and All!

I Love Christmas!!! This year, I'm so blessed to spend Christmas in my new home, with my loved ones. I had to work on Christmas Eve still, so after work, D and I went down to Heartland Mall to collect the roasted turkey from Cold Storage. Mind you, the pamphlet picture looks ready to eat. But it comes vacuum-packed and bloody and everything, so you need to roast it over low heat (around 180 C) for almost an hour to get the beautiful golden tan (see picture). D and I then came home and cooked the rest of the stuff - minestrone soup, spaghetti, potato salad (he's very good at it! has perfected it in fact, hey, he's been at it for what, 14 years? started cooking at 10.... not bad...). So Christmas dinner was lovely and scrumptious and we ate till we popped. Then there was Bryan's Jelly Hearts for dessert which was perfect!! I spent the Eve wrapping presents in semi-darkness, so Recipients, if you're wondering why the quality has dropped, or if there's been QC in th...

Lunch at Foodcourt

I just had such a FULL lunch!! Had this thing called Thai Style Chicken Rice which is basically chicken rice with a deep-fried chicken cutlet and a mountain of shredded cucumber, carrot, a few slivers of fresh chilli and rings of fresh onion topped with Thai sweet chilli sauce! It was so good, I finished the whole place, so now I'm feeling oily and pukey, but it was damn worth it! Ha ha ha! And now I'm nodding off at my desk in the office! Ooops!!!

Where has all the time gone?

I can't believe it's been two years since my last post! Where has all that time gone? Baby is no longer a baby, she's a precocious and precious 2-yr-old. Older daughter is now 9 yrs old! And I've worked in 3 companies in 2 yrs (okay.... the first job upon returning to the workforce was a 3-mth contract job....). And we're moving to our new place in mid-December (thank God!!!). Those of you who know me, you can check out my Facebook. :)

Mmmmm....More Cafe Bites

Image
Seems more and more like a cafe now eh? I'm serving up more and more bites! This is a slice from the Bread Pudding I made yesterday, with an Asian take on it. There's coconut milk inside, baked with some pandan leaves... oooooh.... so melt-in-the-mouth YUMMY! Wish I could invite you over for some!

Biscuits with Bite

Strangely enough, these Oatmeal and Raisin Cookies I baked were really yummy and moist, not hard and crunchy as I imagined them to be, given that almost two cups of instant oats went into baking them! Yummy! My daughter loves them too! So does my dad!

To Bake a Cupcake

1st of October - Children's Day! Happy Children's Day to all the young and young-at-heart! I decided to bake some mini cupcakes for my daughter to take to her Children's Day celebrations in school on Friday. Just use any Plain Vanilla Cupcake recipe off the internet and use petit four cases instead of those standard cupcake paper cups. And a mini-muffin tray to hold them in, while baking. Very simple! See.... Firstly, cream the butter and sugar Add in the eggs, one by one and continue whisking..... Then add in the flour and milk alternately, ending with the flour. Here's the delicious end product: There were about 130 of these mini-cupcakes, enough for about 3 to 4 for each child.

Shiny, Happy Things!

My mum bought me this bracelet as a present for my pregnancy. It's so sweet and pretty, I feel happy just looking at it! And happier wearing it!

Mid-Autumn Festival

Just bought some Moontarts from Harbour City Restaurant at Junction 8 - check them out! They're so cute and tiny and glossy - yummy to boot! I got the Macadamia Nut Pure Lotus Seed Paste (Mum prefers macadamia over walnuts anytime). And it's YUMMILICIOUS! Enough said, just look at the photos: That's the Box it came in, and look at the contents.... Here's a close-up - check out the macadamia nuts, they certainly don't short change you.... there're really quite a few. But for the amount you're paying per box, they'd better... Oh, and here's a small Pink Snow Skin Mooncake I got for Lynnette: I bought this tiny little thing (no larger than the moontart actually) from Bengawan Solo. Lynnette's been asking for one. She really enjoyed it!
